Interesting that the Republican defence of Trump allegedly curling out a steaming log onto the graves of the US war-dead is:-
"
Does that sound the sort of thing Trump would do?"
The answer to which will split exactly along party lines.
Today's cryptic crossword clue: "Coconutty chocolate bar, Captain Bonespurs allows Putin to pay Taliban fighters for a "Taste of Paradise" (6)"
Been backed up now by a Fox News journalist as well. It could be quite damaging for him. Most stuff isn't, but stuff like this cuts through to his base, which is why they're expending so much effort denying it so strongly.

What could possibly go wrong?

Aside from the obvious safety risks, what an utterly useless holster that is, it must take forever to draw the pistol compared to a conventional holster, and it makes it obvious to any ne'er-do-well who to shoot first if things do kick off.
Yes, fumbling that could be interesting. Don't many handguns now come without safety catches?
Yes, but they are what are called "safe action" guns - with a long, heavy trigger pull, very much like a double action revolver, which traditionally has no safety catch.

Hadn't seen that before. It surely can't be true? ...can it?
In other news, the Trump Navy sank at #Dumbkirk

Trump himself has even spoken out in support of them. “I just wish I had time, I’d get on one of those boats, and I’d be carrying a flag also”
I wish he'd have been in one of those boats too.

More leaks - this time from a conversation between Trump and Theresa May
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/0 ... aid-trump/
It must be painful having to be diplomatic and respectful towards this chump even for someone as craven as May.

Sheer f.cking fantasist. Same when he claimed he'd have rushed in at that school shooting "if he'd been there". I bet the US military is gutted that he missed the draft for Vietnam, he'd have won the war single-handedly.

yeah, that was a good one. I didn't really laugh much, but I agreed the f.ck out of it
Yeah, sometimes the main story is just too depressing to be funny.
Luckily the final Danbury segment made me laugh an *awful* lot

I’m sure there is some sort of metaphor for us all there but, for the life of me I can’t quite identify it.

The big waves were caused by big boats going too fast and swamping (heh) the smaller boats. If Trump has been there I think he’d have been on the biggest boat swamping the most people

It's a pretty perfect metaphor for US society.
If the people in small boats didn't want to get swamped they should have been in bigger boats.

And from what I understand, the weather conditions were near perfect, with 10kt winds, so it really was the fault of the inconsiderate idiots in the boats.

Or in submarines. With torpedoes at the ready.

I'm really not going to check whether this photo is true.

And it seems the smaller boats were swamped by selfish Trump supporters in larger boats. I think I could possibly shoehorn a metaphor in somewhere.

I hope the news story about the Trump boat rally boats being in distress is a metaphor for the campaign
Alexandra Petri today in the WaPo: "not since Moby Dick have I seen so many boats sent to the depths by a great white wail."
