Don’t stay in a bubble

I have one friend, well maybe acquaintance is better but until a couple of years ago I would have said friend, who is down the rabbit hole. Here’s an example of the kind of things I see via his Twitter likes.

I don’t unfollow him because I’m fascinated. Before Covid I was at a wedding with him and chatting happily away about stuff. I never discussed politics much with him before, but I did politely disagree with him about Brexit.

Meanwhile COVID has spiked over 500% in the Ukraine and their hospitals are running out of oxygen.

Horribly predictable. If we can fly them ATGMs - and we should - we should also be flying them vaccines, masks and oxygen. And surface-to-air missiles to keep the Russians bombing the hospitals. As every Syria-watcher knows, the Russians think hospitals are high-priority targets.

Less than 50% fully vaccinated and people spending the night in crowded metro stations. :o
